Full Strawberry Moon - June

The moon will be full Saturday June 30, 2007. June's full moon is known as the "Full Strawberry Moon," because the relatively short season for harvesting strawberries comes each year during this month.

• Full Strawberry Moon - June This name was universal to every Algonquin tribe. However, in Europe they called it the Rose Moon. Also because the relatively short season for harvesting strawberries comes each year during the month of June . . . so the full Moon that occurs during that month was christened for the strawberry!

High tide of psychic powers, helpful in all types of magic, this is a powerful time where energy is in abundance. Magical rites are amplified as energy is in its zenith. Full moon magic works best in a seven-day cycle - three priors, the night of, and three after.

So, remember while you out tonight picking Strawberry, ;-) Heeheehee or more likely out shopping or going to the movies or even clubbing to watch for Werewolves for they will be out tonight "Even a man who is pure in heart and says his prayers by night, may become a wolf when the wolfbane blooms and the Full Strawberry Moon is bright." When the Full Strawberry Moon grows fat, a paralyzing fear sweeps through land. For snarls that sound like human words can be heard whining through the wind. And all around are the footprints of a monster whose hunger cannot be sated....Cycle of the Werewolf is here.

I will be celebrating the Full Strawberry Moon by watching Werewolf movies all night. I will watch one or all these Werewolf movies on DVD.

DAYS OF OUR LIVES
Original Air Date: Friday, June 29, 2007

Roman drops Sami and Lucas off at the safe house, a motel operated and protected by the police. Sami's not pleased about being there, and having to send Will off to live with Carrie and Austin. Sami and Lucas discuss baby names, but Lucas thinks they should hold off until they know who the father is. Nick, tormented, hands Marlena the DNA results. Marlena is devastated when she learns that EJ is the father of both babies. Marlena delivers the heartbreaking news to Sami and Lucas. Lucas, pained, assures Sami that she won't lose him. Kate tells EJ that Sami and Lucas have been taken to a safe house, and only Roman knows where they are. Kate surprises EJ with the news that Sami is carrying twins. Nick calls Kate and tells her he did as she requested, and the DNA test conveniently came out in EJ's favor. Nick reveals that he never even conducted a real test, so he has no idea who the true father is. Nick later decides that he needs to perform the test after all. Kate springs the good news on EJ. Roman is summoned to the mansion, where EJ tells him about the paternity results and says he wants to be taken to the safe house to discuss custody with Sami. Roman responds that he'll take him when hell freezes over. Shawn admits to Hope that he's hurt over Claire thinking Philip is her father and tells her how she ran into Philip's arms at the hotel. Shawn thinks he's losing both Claire and Belle to Philip because Philip provides a security that he can't. Bo and Hope suggest Shawn move back into their home with Belle and Claire. Bo advises Shawn to have a talk with Philip about giving him and his family some breathing room. Philip tells Belle that their final divorce papers arrived, and the two of them are affected. Belle asks Philip to help Shawn find a decent job. Philip arranges a job offer for Shawn without him knowing who was behind it. Shawn arrives at the pub with Claire and privately tells Philip to back off. Philip accuses Shawn of trying to punish him. Shawn insists that he just needs time with his family and asks Philip to disappear for a while. Philip says that he'd like to hear what Belle has to say about it first. Roman stops by Bo and Hope's place. Roman confides to Bo that he's in trouble, telling him that he and Anna had a huge fight last night while rehashing the past. Roman thinks he sent Anna the wrong signal by sleeping with her. Roman's news leaves both Hope and Bo speechless.

Stefano seems to buy it, saying he wishes he'll see Hope around the mansion more often. Steve gets Hope out of there. Stefano is furious with Tony for allowing himself to be drugged. Tony blames Steve, accusing him of playing both sides against the middle. Steve admits he made up the story about him and Hope, saying he just didn't want her to get hurt. Wrestler Killed Family and Self, Police Say

ATLANTA (June 26) - Pro wrestler Chris Benoit strangled his wife, suffocated his 7-year-old son and placed a Bible next to their bodies before hanging himself with a weight-machine pulley, authorities said Tuesday.

Investigators found anabolic steroids in the house and want to know whether the muscle man nicknamed "The Canadian Crippler" was unhinged by the bodybuilding drugs, which can cause paranoia, depression and explosive outbursts known as "roid rage."

Authorities offered no motive for the killings, which were spread out over a weekend, and would not discuss Benoit's state of mind. No suicide note was found.

"I'm baffled about why anybody would kill a 7-year-old," District Attorney Scott Ballard said. "I don't think we'll ever be able wrap our head around that."

The Montreal-born Benoit was one of the stars of the WWE wrestling circuit and was known for his wholesome family-man image. His wife, Nancy, was a wrestling stage manager who worked under the name "Woman." They married in 2000.

When he won the world heavyweight championship in 2004, Benoit (pronounced ben-WAH) hoisted the belt over his head and invited his wife and child into the ring to celebrate. Asked by the Calgary Sun that same year to name his worst vice: Benoit replied: "Quality time with my family is a big vice. It's something I'll fight for and crave."

Nevertheless, Nancy Benoit filed for a divorce in 2003, saying the couple's three-year marriage was irrevocably broken and alleging "cruel treatment." She later dropped the complaint, as well as a request for a restraining order in which she charged that the 5-foot-10, 220-pound Benoit had threatened her and had broken furniture in their home.

In the divorce filing, she said Benoit made more than $500,000 a year as a professional wrestler and asked for permanent custody of Daniel and child support. In his response, Benoit sought joint custody.

The bodies were found Monday afternoon in the house, situated off a gravel road in this suburb about 20 miles south of Atlanta.

Benoit's 43-year-old wife was killed Friday in an upstairs family room, her feet and wrists were bound and there was blood under her head, indicating a possible struggle, Ballard said. Daniel was probably killed late Saturday or early Sunday, the body found in his bed, the district attorney said.

Benoit, 40, apparently hanged himself several hours and as long as a day later, Ballard said. His body was found in a downstairs weight room, his body found hanging from the pulley of a piece of exercise equipment.

A closed Bible was placed next to the bodies of the wife and son, authorities said.

The prosecutor said he found it "bizarre" that the WWE wrestling star spread out the killings over a weekend and appeared to remain in the house for up to a day with the bodies.

Toxicology test results may not be available for weeks or even months, Ballard said. As for whether steroids played a role in the crime, he said: "We don't know yet. That's one of the things we'll be looking at."

Steroids have been linked to the deaths of several professional wrestlers in recent years. Eddie Guerrero, one of Benoit's best friends, died in 2005 from heart failure linked to long-term steroid use.

The father of Curt "Mr. Perfect" Hennig blamed steroids and painkillers for Hennig's drug overdose death in 2003. Davey Boy Smith, the "British Bulldog," died in 2002 from heart failure that a coroner said was probably caused by steroids.

Benoit was a quiet, roughhewn figure amid the glitz and bluster of pro wrestling. He performed under his real name, eschewed scripted personas and didn't bother to fix a gap where he had lost one of his front teeth. (According to the WWE Web site, he lost the tooth while roughhousing with his pet Rottweiler.)

His signature move was the "Crippler Crossface," in which he would lock his hands around an opponent's face and stretch his neck.

He met his wife in the 1990s when she was married to rival wrestler Kevin Sullivan. As part of the scripted rivalry, Benoit and Nancy were supposed to act as if they were having an affair. A real romance blossomed, and she left Sullivan for Benoit.

Neighbors said the Benoits led a low-key lifestyle.

"We would see Chris walking in his yard from time to time. He wasn't rude, but he wasn't really outwardly warm," said Alaina Jones, who lives across the street.

Jimmy Baswell, who was Benoit's driver for more than five years, placed a white wreath at the Benoits' gate. "They always seemed like they were the happiest people," he said.

World Wrestling Entertainment said on its Web site that it asked authorities to check on Benoit and his family after being alerted by friends who had received "several curious text messages sent by Benoit early Sunday morning."

"He was like a family member to me, and everyone in my family is taking it real hard," said fellow Canadian Bret Hart, a five-time champion.

The WWE canceled its live "Monday Night RAW" card in Corpus Christi, Texas, after the bodies were discovered.

Monday's show was supposed to be a memorial service for WWE owner Vince McMahon. In a storyline concocted by the WWE, McMahon was supposedly "assassinated" in a limousine explosion two weeks earlier. McMahon appeared at the beginning of Monday's telecast and acknowledged the bombing was made up.

The McMahon storyline has been dropped.

WWE Star Benoit, Family Found Dead
Police Investigating Three Deaths as Murder-Suicide
AP Sports
Posted: 2007-06-26 10:45:04
FAYETTEVILLE, Ga. (June 26) - Details of the deaths of pro wrestler Chris Benoit, his wife and their 7-year-old son may seem "a little bizarre" when released to the public, a prosecutor said.
Wrestling Tragedy

WWE wrestler Chris Benoit was a former world heavyweight champion, Intercontinental champion and held several tag-team titles over his career

Chris Benoit, June 25: The 40-year-old pro wrestler was found dead in his home, along with his wife and son.

Benoit's appearance on Sunday night's pay-per-view event had been canceled for what the WWE then called "personal reasons."

After news of the deaths, the WWE canceled its "Monday Night RAW" show, and instead aired a tribute broadcast to Benoit on the USA Network.

"WWE extends its sincerest thoughts and prayers to the Benoit family's relatives and loved ones in this time of tragedy," the federation said on its Web site.

Benoit, a native of Canada, was born in Montreal.
He was known by several names including "The Canadian Crippler."

Benoit, seen here with WWE Chairman Vince McMahon, is the latest in a string of pro wrestlers to meet an untimely death.

Authorities were investigating the deaths at a secluded Fayette County home as a murder-suicide and were not seeking any suspects outside the home.

Fayette County District Attorney Scott Ballard told The Atlanta Journal-Constitution, "The details, when they come out, are going to prove a little bizarre."

Those details may emerge after the completion of autopsies scheduled for Tuesday.

Investigators believe Benoit, (pronounced ben-WAH,) killed his wife and son over the weekend and then himself sometime Monday. The bodies were found Monday afternoon in three different rooms of the house on Green Meadow Lane, in a subdivision off a gravel road about two miles from Whitewater Country Club.

The autopsies were scheduled to be done at the Georgia Bureau of Investigation Crime Lab in DeKalb County.

Ballard told The Associated Press a gun was not used in any of the deaths. But he declined to say how the three died.

"We're pretty sure we know, but we want to confirm it with the crime lab," Ballard said early Tuesday.

Fayette County Coroner C.J. Mowell did not immediately return phone calls. The answering service for his funeral home said he was out of town.

World Wrestling Entertainment said on its Web site that it asked authorities to check on Benoit and his family after being alerted by friends who received "several curious text messages sent by Benoit early Sunday morning."

Pope said the three were found about 2:30 p.m., but he would release no other details about the deaths.

Stamford, Conn.-based WWE also said on its Web site it had further information on the deaths of Benoit, 40; his wife, Nancy, 43; and son, Daniel, but had been asked by authorities not to release it.

Benoit, a native of Canada, was born in Montreal. He was a former world heavyweight champion, Intercontinental champion and held several tag-team titles over his career. He was known by several names including "The Canadian Crippler."

"WWE extends its sincerest thoughts and prayers to the Benoit family's relatives and loved ones in this time of tragedy," the federation said in a statement on its Web site.

Benoit was scheduled to perform at the "Vengeance" pay-per-view event Sunday night in Houston, but was replaced at the last minute because of what announcer Jim Ross called "personal reasons."

Benoit maintained a home in metro Atlanta from the time he wrestled for the defunct World Championship Wrestling.

The WWE canceled its live "Monday Night RAW" card in Corpus Christi, Texas, and USA Network aired a three-hour tribute to Benoit in place of the scheduled wrestling telecast.

Benoit's wife managed several wrestlers and went by the stage name, "Woman," The Atlanta Journal-Constitution reported.

They met when her then-husband drew up a script that had them involved in a relationship as part of an ongoing story line on World Championship Wrestling, the newspaper said.

Benoit has two other children from a prior relationship.

Investigators believe Benoit killed his wife and son over the weekend and then himself sometime Monday. The bodies were found Monday in three rooms of his house.

DAYS OF OUR LIVES
Original Air Date: Monday, June 25, 2007

The morning after Chelsea and Nick made love, Chelsea's not feeling blown away by their first night together. Nick can tell something's wrong, and seeks reassurance from Chelsea, who provides it, not wanting to hurt Nick. Nick leaves for work, and Chelsea summons Stephanie, confiding that she thinks something's wrong with her because she didn't feel anything with Nick. Stephanie diagnoses Chelsea's "problem,' telling her that she's just not that into Nick. Chelsea argues that Nick is one of the finest human beings she's ever known. Stephanie counters that Chelsea wants to be in love with Nick, but she's not. Stephanie thinks Chelsea has feelings for Jett, but Chelsea denies. Lucas confides in Billie that he's not sure he'll be able to handle it if Sami's baby turns out to be EJ's. Billie urges Lucas to talk to Sami and open up about his true feelings. Kate excitedly eavesdrops as Lucas confesses that he's doubtful he could raise a rapist's child as his own. Billie reminds Lucas that Sami's baby is innocent no matter who the father is, but all Lucas can see is the constant aggravation of having EJ in his and Sami's lives. Billie reveals to Kate that Nick stole Chelsea's hairbrush from the lab in order to protect her, but Roman let them off the hook. Kate's wheels start turning, and she races to the hospital, where she asks Nick to make sure Sami's test proves EJ is the father. Nick's appalled by Kate's request. Sami waits at the hospital for an amniocentesis, and confides in Marlena her fears that if her baby turns out to be EJ's, she'll lose Lucas forever. Marlena surprises Sami by offering to alter the paternity test results to ensure Lucas is named the father. Sami refuses, but is grateful to Marlena. Lucas, Sami and Marlena are stunned during the amniocentesis when Sami's sonogram reveals that she's having twins.

On the next Days of our Lives:
Kate turns the screws on Nick. EJ tries to win back Stefano's trust. Max and Jeremy clash.

DAYS OF OUR LIVES
Original Air Date: Friday, June 22, 2007

Everyone argues before ultimately deciding that Anna will go to the DiMera mansion and divert Tony and Stefano while Hope, wearing a wire, will look for the letters Santo DiMera wrote to Colleen Brady. Steve shows up and offers to help, but everyone isn't quite ready to trust him. Steve, angry and disappointed, takes off. EJ arrives, under orders from Stefano to spy on Anna and the Bradys. EJ instead reveals his purpose for being there and offers to tell Stefano that Anna is just in Salem to visit old friends. EJ explains that he'd be willing to do this because he wants peace among the families. Lucas persuades Sami to have the amniocentesis done right away so they can find out who the baby's father is. Sami agrees to go to the safe house. Stefano shows EJ a photo of his father, Santo, a dead ringer for EJ, and says he's the only one who can end the vendetta against the Bradys. Stefano goes up to his room, asking EJ to make peace with Tony. Tony arrives and laughs when EJ tells him of Stefano's request, refusing to make peace. Steve shows up after EJ leaves for the Brady Pub, claming he's there to make up for failing the DiMeras. Steve decides to prove his sincerity by telling them that Anna is with the Bradys, concocting a plan to get into the mansion to search for the letters Santo wrote to Colleen. Stefano receives a call from EJ, telling him that Anna is on the level, and they have nothing to worry about from her. Stefano hangs up the phone, distraught that he can no longer trust EJ. Lexie recovers at the hospital as Celeste assures her that Abe will be happy to see her, literally, provided his corneal transplant is a success. Lexie fears that Abe still hasn't forgiven her actions before she disappeared. Lexie and Celeste are disappointed when Abe's doctor announces that Abe won't be having his bandages removed tonight after all, since he spiked a fever. Lexie resolves to stick to her plan and reveal herself when Abe gets his bandages removed. Celeste surprises Lexie by having Theo brought to the hospital, and the two share a happy reunion.

The Fly (1958)

Horror , Monster , Science Fiction
TVY, Twentieth Century Fox
Herbert Marshall
Vincent Price
The classic science fiction-horror film about a scientist's two "teleport" machines, one of which dissolves atoms, while the other reconstructs them. When the scientist unwittingly shares the machine with a common housefly, he turns into a hideous hybrid of man and insect--and begins to literally bug out. The scientist wants to reverse the process, but first he must catch that fly. Hilarious as well as horrific, this spawned two sequels in the '50s ("Return of the Fly" and "Curse of the Fly") before starting another cycle in the '80s, beginning with David Cronenberg's elegant updating ("The Fly," 1986). Vincent Price stars as the doomed scientist's brother.

This continuation of The Fly (1958) follows the old adage the apple does not fall far from the tree" as the son (Halsey) of the original inventor tries to continue his late father's work by rebuilding his teleportation machine. He suffers similar results when a traitorous assistant (Frankham; at one point blending a dead police officer with a guinea pig) makes an attempt to steal the matter transmitter for selfish ends. The boy should have listened to his uncle (Price). Followed by Curse of The Fly (1965)."

The high point of Brooks's genre parodies depends for many of its laughs on closely observed and lovingly re-created situations (the blind man scene, the little girl and the lake) taken from the original "Frankenstein" (1931) and "Bride of Frankenstein" (1935)?even the mad doctor's laboratory set is the original. Wilder plays a scientist and descendant of the good doctor (though he insists the name is pronounced "Fronk-en-steen") who inherits the creepy old house and his predecessor's experiments. Brooks's stock company are all in top form, particularly Wilder and Kahn. A treat for any classic-movie fan. Academy Award Nominations: 2, including Best Adapted Screenplay.

This third installment of writer/director Sam Raimi's comic-bookish horror trilogy that began with The Evil Dead (1982) finds one-armed Ash (Bruce Campbell) stuck in the 14th century, armed only with his trusty chainsaw prosthetic. After wiping out a few score Deadites, Ash plaintively asks to go home and is told that to do so, he needs to locate the Necronomicon, a book that can raise or put down the dead. Along the way, Ash romances the princess Sheila (Embeth Davidtz) and has to deal with the Evil Ash, a malevolent version of himself. When he finally arrives at the graveyard where the magic book is reputedly located, he mangles the required incantation and, instead of snaring the book, awakens the army of darkness: a multitude of walking skeletons. A wild Raimi ride, with a hilarious performance from the under-used Campbell, non-stop action, and terrific special effects by William Mesa.
