DAYS OF OUR LIVES

Original Air Date: Thursday, June 21, 2007

Roman, Bo, Hope, John, Marlena and Caroline gather at the pub to discuss the latest threats from the newly-returned DiMeras. Bo asks Caroline where Grandpa Shawn is, and she says he wanted no part of the meeting, and went fishing instead. Sami shows up, telling everyone that she brought someone who might be able to shed some light on the Colleen Brady mystery. Sami says this person is familiar to almost everyone in the room, especially Roman, and has Lucas bring in the mystery woman from the docks. The woman lifts her veil, revealing herself to be Anna DiMera, Roman and Tony's ex-wife. Anna explains she anonymously contacted Sami when she heard the DiMeras were back in town and that people were asking about Colleen Brady. Anna remembered she had some letters Tony left behind that were written, in Italian, from Colleen to Santo. Anna offers to try reading the letters using her limited Italian. Anna reports that Colleen and Santo met in a romantic way when Santo was injured near a church and Colleen nursed him back to health. Anna's only able to glean that much from the first letter, so Hope arranges to have a professor at the University translate all the letters word for word. Everyone realizes in order to get the full story, they also need Santo's letters to Colleen, but someone has to be close enough to Tony and Stefano to get inside the mansion. Roman and Anna playfully reconnect, and Bo and John interrupt to ask Anna to help. Anna agrees, as long as there's something in it for her. Lucas and Sami are stunned when Marlena shows them the photo of Colleen, who looks just like Sami. Lucas insists Sami enter a safe house, but she refuses. Grandpa Shawn returns, and Bo presses him for answers about Colleen. Grandpa Shawn blurts out that the DiMeras are responsible for her murder, and then clams up, saying he doesn't know more. The DiMeras have their own dysfunctional family meeting at the mansion. EJ arrives and sees Stefano gazing at a photo of what looks to be Sami. Stefano reveals that the woman is Colleen Brady, Sami's great-aunt. EJ and Tony argue over EJ's affection for Sami, and Stefano orders them to stop bickering. Celeste arrives, and Stefano asks why Lexie isn't with her. Celeste shoots back that she didn't bring Lexie, and if he comes after her daughter again, she'll exterminate the whole DiMera clan. Stefano swears he had nothing to do with Lexie's imprisonment. Stefano, holding a packet of letters, confesses that the feud started with a tragic death, Colleen's murder at the hands of the Bradys. Stefano, realizing he won't live much longer, must now decide whether the feud should continue, or if he should call it off. EJ urges Stefano to end the feud, but Tony demands that Stefano see it through. Stefano sends everyone else away and confides to EJ that they are both on the same page about the vendetta, and only EJ can end it. Stefano shows EJ a photo of his father, Santo, revealing that EJ is a dead ringer for his grandfather.

On the next Days of our Lives:
EJ works with the Bradys. Steve turns the tables on EJ. Lexie hopes to mend fences with Abe.
