Steve has another episode where he hears the pounding in his head, and he collapses. Kayla tells Steve to get an MRI, but the results are normal. Kayla tells Hope her concerns about Steve. Marlena is devastated to learn that John's brain will never recover from the shooting incident. Marlena balks when the doctor suggests Marlena put John in a care facility. Marlena demands he do another EEG. Bo and Steve drop by to check on John. John's blood pressure shoots up and the alarms on his monitors go off when John hears Steve's voice. Marlena tells Steve she thinks he was the cause of John's pressure rising. Steve agrees to help Marlena find out if this is true. John's hand moves slightly, trying to make contact with Steve's hand, but neither Marlena nor Steve notice. Mimi seeks comfort from Max about Patrick's arrest. Shawn and Claire interrupt before Max and Mimi can make love. Shawn says he's happy for them, and apologizes for being a rotten friend. Shawn gives Max his old job back. Mimi takes Claire out to play, and is alarmed when she spots a photographer taking pictures of them. Shawn tells Belle he fears the woman from Child Protective Services is investigating them. The photographer gives the pictures to the Child Protective Services woman, who says it's time to call Mr. Kiriakis so they can move ahead with the plan. Bo and Hope are unable to choose a name for their daughter, and decide to invite their family and friends to participate in a baby naming contest. Bo decides to call her by her nickname, "Doodlebug," in the meantime. Shawn meets his new baby sister, and they bond.
