Obama: White CEO's hate inner city kids? June 14, 2010 - 15:35 ET GLENN: I'm still reeling over this BP thing. Boy, there's something wrong. The President now says that this is comparable to 9/11. Is it, now? This is comparable to 9/11? I've heard a lot of people talk about this and they're saying, well, I'm very it's really what are you offended by? All the President is saying is soon you're going to do the things that are the equivalent of taking off your shoes and your belt at the airport, the Overton Window, if you will, has been moved, and he's warning you that massive regulation is coming. And it's an awful lot like 9/11, it is. Do you remember, right after 9/11, everybody was told, don't, don't you dare say, oh, Muslims are alike. Don't you dare say that, and the President immediately went to a mosque and took his shoes off. Do you remember? That's what George Bush did. That's what all of us had to do. This President can just say that all CEOs of oil companies are alike. They're all evil and he's not going to go to their office and take his shoes off. He doesn't want to even find out any information. We were told to investigate. We were told talk to Muslims and we were all, like I remember watching TV going, I'd like to see one come on television and clearly denounce. Took a while. We found them. And it is true, not all Muslims are terrorists, not all terrorists are Muslims. It's true. But for some reason our Government and the media insisted that we know that, that you don't dare put them all in the same category. Have you heard anybody in the media or the President and the administration, anybody in Congress coming out and saying, Hey, stop vandalizing gas stations that say BP? Not all gas station owners, not all gas station attendants, not all gas station people, you know, blew the oil in the gulf? They weren't there?
PAT: In fact, none of them did.
GLENN: Well, can you say that?
PAT: Uh huh, yeah, I can.
GLENN: Well,
PAT: Not one. No gas station owner dumped oil into the gulf, none, not one.
GLENN: I haven't verified that fact yet. I'm going to stay neutral on that fact.
PAT: All right.
GLENN: Just because I want to make sure that I'm not classifying anybody into a category.
PAT: Okay.
GLENN: Without the facts.
PAT: Well,
GLENN: Now, I know those facts we don't have to actually do that anymore. We apparently don't have to look for facts before we stereotype people.
PAT: We can easily jump to conclusions. It's fine.
GLENN: I have enough facts.
PAT: Oh, yeah.
GLENN: To be able to jump to conclusions 4
PAT: Uh huh.
GLENN: So and I'm trying to figure out now, we spoke on Friday. I want to play the audio. Something massive has changed in President Obama's head. Something massive has happened. I don't know what, but something big has happened. It only took two days. Now, a cynical man, not me, a cynical man, would say that he said that he didn't need to meet with this guy and two days later he said he did. Maybe it's because he wasn't on prompt err and that's a bad thing and he said something that made George Soros say, Knock it off, bad boy. Maybe he saw how that was going to play in the press and so now he's going to have a beer summit. Of course, someone even more cynical might say he's not going to meet with him and ask him any questions. The President already has made up his mind because he's the messiah and so all he's going to do is call him on the carpet, so it's going to the BP executive's going to be a whipping boy, but that's very cynical.
I think, instead, some new piece of information has come to the President, because this is what he said last week.
VOICE: Have you spoken directly to Tony Hayward, the CEO of BP?
OBAMA: I have not spoken to him directly and here's the reason, because my experience is when you talk to a guy like a BP CEO, he's going to say all the right things to me. I'm not interested in words. I'm interested in action.
GLENN: Okay. So, he doesn't need to speak because he's a typical may I ask the President this question, a question that really somebody in the press should ask, Mr. President, just could you outline, because I've missed it on your resume. Could you outline your vast oil company executive experience? Could you just outline that, because I know well, all the oil rigs that are, you know, right there in Lake Michigan, I'm sure growing up in Chicago, you have a ton of experience with oil executives. I don't even know if oil executives even live in the greater Chicago area, which I could have given him the benefit of the doubt if it was known to have suburbs filled and populated with oil executives, I know the President would have had a lot of experience. Of course, I don't know if the average American would have counted him standing in the front lawn with a bunch of ACORN workers shouting at those oil executives from their front yard as experience of really talking to them, but a community organizer might do that. What is it exactly in your vast experience in oil or is it that these are all oil executives? I'm sorry. We're stereotyping here. I'm just trying to get my arms around what we can stereotype with no information and what we can't stereotype with information. I'm just trying to help me out, if you will, Mr. President.
I'm waiting for the red phone at FOX to ring right now. It's not over here. I'm so used to just waiting for the phone to ring. What is it about that? Now, is it oil, because you don't have any oil experience. Did you work at a gas station, because maybe you could come out and say, Hey, all gas station owners are alike in your experience, if you've worked at a gas station, or is it the fact that he's a white executive? Maybe your problem is that he's a white CEO that maybe lives out in the suburbs and doesn't want to pay taxes, you know, for any inner city children. That's such an outrageous right now Huffington Post right now, as they're writing this down, I can't believe Glenn Beck said that. You're right. I shouldn't have said that. Let me just let the President make that accusation.
PRESIDENT OBAMA: And I really want to emphasize the word responsibility. I think whether you are a white executive living out in the suburbs who doesn't want to pay taxes to inner city children
GLENN: Oh, okay. All right. So, maybe that's the problem. Maybe the problem the President has with the BP executive, that he last week didn't want to meet with because he had all the information he needed, he wasn't interested in words, but this week he's going to meet with him and I'm trying to figure out what changed. Did he find out that not all white executives that live out in the suburbs don't want to pay their taxes to go to inner city children, which I believe is code language, isn't it? Is that code language, Mr. President? I thought we weren't supposed to use code language. A white executive that doesn't want their tax dollars to go to inner city children. Sounds like code language. It sounds like racism. It sounds like stereotyping. It sounds like profiling which I didn't think we were supposed to do. Isn't that your problem in Arizona? Your problem with the Arizona law is you're profiling, they can stop you just for looking Hispanic. That's what you claim, Mr. President, are you profiling this executive, just because he looks like a CEO, because he looks like a white CEO, because he looks like an oil company CEO? I'm not sure what you're profiling, but there seems to be a little profiling going on here. Were you actually born in Arizona and not Hawaii? I'm suddenly interested in the birth certificate because maybe your birth certificate says you were born in Arizona. I've never questioned your birth certificate. Now I'm kind of curious. Maybe you were born one of those evil Arizonian profilers. It's weird, because he doesn't need information. He didn't need the information from Arizona, he didn't meet with them until he got into trouble. He said he wasn't going to he had no room on his schedule for the governor of Arizona. He didn't need to. He already knew. Even though nobody read the law, he already knew! Until he had a change of heart for some reason. Something happened. Now, a cynical man might say it's the same story, the press picked that up and George Soros called and said, I am your puppet master. You shall meet. Oh, okay. He didn't have any of the information when he had the beer summit. He said, I don't have I don't know very few facts, but the police acted stupidly. He didn't have any information and then he had the beer summit. Now, a cynical man might say because people started talking about that and it wasn't going well for his poll numbers, but I know and you know he had a change of heart, there was something else that he discovered and wanted to meet with them. It's weird because right out of the chute he doesn't mind meeting with Ahmadinejad. Nope. No problem. Hum. That's weird, because I've got a lot of information on Ahmadinejad that I would say, I don't know if he's going to tell you the truth. You know, it's kind of like that Kim Jong Il thing. I don't know if evil dictators tell you the truth. No, no. You're wrong. I'm wrong. He's perfectly fine to meet with, without any kind of conditions and he'll shoot straight with us, but because of our lack of really deep oil executive experience, like the President apparently has, he knows that the one you can't trust are those evil CEOs of oil companies. I don't know what his experience told him, but I sure wish somebody would do their job and ask him those questions. Don't you? Wouldn't that be an interesting answer? I would sure like to hear it, just because I'd like more information and I know there's a lot of information out there that's bad for you. Maybe he could give some of that information to the Huffington Post and we could read it there, because that's good information and there's a difference between information. There's good information and bad information and then there's good profiling and bad profiling. We're learning that now. Isn't that great? That equal justice thing, what a crock that is. Glad we're past that. [NOTE: Transcript may have been edited to enhance readability - audio archive includes full segment as it was originally aired] Carl Ray Louk
